Annual quality reports are a recommendation of the Department of Health in line with the implementation of the Q2020 Strategy. This is the PHA and HSCBs ninth joint Annual Quality Report which covers the period of time prior to the closure of the HSCB and establishment of SPPG. The aim of the report is to share information and demonstrate improvements both to those who use health and social care services and those who deliver them. 

The report was written under the following 5 strategic goals:

The information in this factsheet has been developed to help health professionals identify and test appropriately for suspected cases of whooping cough (pertussis).

This poster encourages uptake of the whooping cough vaccine for pregnant women. Cases of whooping cough are on the increase – by getting the vaccine while pregnant you can protect your baby.

This leaflet highlights the importance of keeping antibiotics working so the public is aware of the personal risk associated with the misuse of antibiotics.
