The AHP team in the PHA hosted a follow-up workshop in Knockbracken Hall to review progress and to provide an update on the current recruitment process for the appointment of Band 5 staff on the 2nd of March 2016 for the following professions:
- Dietetics
- Occupational Therapy
- Orthoptics
- Physiotherapy
- Podiatry
- Speech and Language Therapy
This event was attended by a wide range of stakeholders from the DHSSPS, PHA, Trusts, Universities, and representatives from AHP professional bodies. Workshop attendees considered the need for any amendments to the current processes to ensure the availability of band 5 AHP staff to meet the needs and pressures of the current health and social care, in line with themes and actions outlined within the AHP Strategy.

The AHP team in the PHA in partnership with HSCB e-health hosted an e-health stakeholder workshop on 28 September.
This workshop included key AHP and e-health stakeholders.
Key themes during the day were the NI e-Health & Care Strategy and linkages with the 2012-2017 AHP Strategy ‘Improving Health and Well-bring Through Positive Partnerships’

The AHP team in the PHA hosted a regional workshop on Band 5 AHP Recruitment in Knockbracken Hall, Belfast on Friday 1 May 2015.
This workshop included key AHP and HR stakeholders from:
- BSO
- Health and Social Care Trusts
- Ulster University
- DHSSPS
- Professional Bodies
- PHA
The key theme of the workshop was to review the regional recruitment process adopted across the region and to consider amendments to meet the future recruitment needs for band 5 AHP staff.
This is one of the key targets and actions of the 2012-2017 AHP Strategy ‘Improving Health and Well-bring Through Positive Partnerships’
