Public Appointments NI - Public Health Agency Northern Ireland

The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety is seeking to appoint a non-executive Chair and two non-executive Members (x1 Financial Member and x1 Lay Member) to the Public Health Agency (PHA).

The PHA was established in 2009 with the explicit agenda to protect public health and improve health and social wellbeing.  It is a multi-disciplinary, multi-professional body, with a strong regional and local presence. The PHA has a lead role in protecting the population from infection and environmental hazards through active surveillance and monitoring. The four key functions of the PHA are:

  1. Operational support;
  2. Advice;
  3. Education;
  4. Training and research.
