Northern Ireland Registry of Self-harm Regional Report 2020/21 and 2021/22
The Self-Harm Registry collects data from hospital Emergency Departments across Northern Ireland in relation to attendances due to self-harm and/or thoughts of self-harm/suicide.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic data collection and production of reports has been delayed.
The report published today includes data for the years 2021/22 and 2020/21. The Registry has now collected data over a 10 year period and the report includes trends since establishment of the Registry in 2012/13.
The purpose of the Registry is to improve understanding about the issues of self-harm and ideation, monitor trends over time and, most importantly, help shape the development of services and support to meet the needs of people experiencing these difficult issues.
